About

My approach takes inspiration from the Rosewood Tree, which produces a rare and beautiful wood that has calming and healing properties. These qualities come from within, developing as the tree grows year by year.

I believe we are all like the Rosewood Tree: we intrinsically have the answers we need, but sometimes just need the time, space and encouragement to realize them and continue growing. Everyone is on a unique trajectory, navigating the twists and turns of life. By creating the right conditions, we can use our experiences to help shape a life of meaning, joy and self-compassion.

I have a background in working with adults with a wide array of concerns including trauma, grief and bereavement, serious and chronic illness, death and dying, as well as general life transitions, caregiver issues, occupational burnout, anxiety, and depression.

I’m committed to providing high-quality care and support, genuinely focusing on each client’s unique needs, practicing from a strengths-based perspective, combining evidence-based practices such as:

  •  Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  • Various Trauma-Focused and Resiliency-Based modalities

While I am trained in several types of therapy, one of my specializations is using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).  It is a well-researched and effective psychotherapy approach that helps individuals recover from trauma and other challenging life experiences, including anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

What are my current fees?

My current rate is $220 per hourly session.

Credit card information is taken at the first session, or

payment can also be made by e-transfer.

Am I covered by Insurance?

As a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), you can claim therapy under most private health insurance companies. Please check with your company’s or your personal insurance policy to verify your coverage under “psychology &/or counselling,” and ensure you are covered for therapy provided by a Master of Social Work (MSW) counsellor.  In addition, therapy services are a tax-deductible medical expense in Alberta.  I will always provide you with a receipt for both purposes

at the time of your session.

Social Impact

A portion of all profits will be donated to the CURE Foundation in the Philippines, a remarkable organization providing aftercare shelter, care and education to child survivors of online exploitation.

I am deeply moved by the courage, resilience, and strength of these children, as well as the compassion and dedication of the caregivers who support them.

In the spirit of reconciliation, I respectfully acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the îethka Nakoda Nations (Chiniki, Bearspaw, Goodstoney), the Otipemisiwak Métis Government (Districts 5 & 6),

and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.

I live and practice close to the beautiful Edworthy Park, an urban green space along the Bow River. The park’s history is intertwined with the Plains Indigenous Peoples, who lived in the area for thousands of years and followed the migration of buffalo to its steep cliffs and ravines.

Today, Edworthy Park stands as a powerful reminder of the enduring connection between the land and its original stewards.

It’s a place where natural beauty and cultural heritage are celebrated in harmony.
